    The first day of the term is one of my favorite days of the year. There’s an energy to the college as the parking lots fill up, new students find their way and faculty start teaching classes. I spent the first day walking the Oregon City campus, greeting students, faculty and staff.

  • Sept 24, 2018 - Off to a Great Start

    I’ve been looking forward to fall inservice week since I started working in July. The energy at the college ratcheted up as faculty and staff prepared for another year at CCC. I spent the majority of my week attending meetings with departments, associations and staff groups.

  • Sept 17, 2018 - Wrapping up summer and heading toward fall

    Last week I spent two days with the Leadership Cabinet working on aligning division and departmental goals with the strategic priorities of the college. If you didn’t already know, the Leadership Cabinet consists of all of the deans from across the college, the VPs and the president.

  • Sept 10, 2018 - Early Mornings and Outreach

    Just like that, summer is coming to a close and we are in September. Last week I had the opportunity to work an early-morning shift with some of the custodial staff. I drug myself out of bed at 3 a.m. so I would be on time for the 4 a.m. start.
