High Purity Water CC
Water and Environmental Technology Department | C.C. Certificate of Completion | Less than one year
Earn your High Purity Water certificate at Clackamas Community College. In as little as a six months, learn the skills needed for an in demand career in the high purity water field.
Are you ready for a high-tech career? Do you have an interest in science and how it is used in the real world? Developed in cooperation with Intel Corporation, the High Purity Water certificate program provides you with classes and hands-on experience for advanced water treatment methods. In as little as six months, learn how to produce high purity water used by the high-tech industry.
High Purity Water CC
You will develop some exciting new skills in this program. Among these new skills, you should be able to:
- Operate and maintain SCADA equipment and other instrumentation involved in the general operation of facilities where high purity water is produced
- Perform calculations related to electrical circuit operation and hydraulics
- Use reverse osmosis-based equipment to manufacture high purity water

OREGON BACKFLOW AND CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL TRAINING
Become certified as a:
- Backflow Assembly Tester
CCC offers five-day backflow tester certification courses approved by the Oregon Health Division. Only certified testers can perform the annual backflow assembly test required by the Oregon Plumbing Code and Water Purveyors. The Department of Human Services requires proof of high school diploma or GED certificate in order to complete the certification process. - Cross Connection Control Specialist
CCC offers four-day courses for individuals who want to obtain Oregon Department of Human Services certification as cross connection control inspectors. Oregon Community Public Water Systems with more than 300 service connections are required to have a certified individual oversee the cross connection program. The Oregon Department of Human Services will require proof of high school diploma or GED in order to complete the certification process

Be prepared to demonstrate your testing skills on all approved backflow assemblies. Practice assemblies (both vertical and horizontal will be available. Two-Day Tester Retrain/Renewal Course - 1.2 CEUs
The two-day tester renewal course will provide ample time to practice your assembly testing skills on all approved backflow assemblies. Practice assemblies (both vertical and horizontal) with gauges and simulators will be available. Interactive clicker lecture with 10th edition assembly testing and trouble shooting procedures, followed by a written exam. Ample time provided for hands-on assembly practice. On day two hand-on testing will commence. |

The ORWEF Short School is intensive training designed as a comprehensive overview for wastewater professionals. Topics will provide supplemental occupational education, and technical upgrading for those employed in both the municipal and industrial arenas.

Join the Oregon Water Education Foundation Water Environment School for the 43rd annual short school. This is a great opportunity to display your products and services to the wastewater industry! Over 100 vendors are typically invited to the exhibition and we have space for about 45 in the Randall Gymnasium. Register early to reserve your exhibit space! The cost is $255 for each exhibit space (10-12 linear feet). The registration fee includes lunch and an appreciation gift for your staff working in the exhibit space. Additionally, there is free Wi-Fi for everyone to keep in electronic contact with their office.

The High Purity Water certificate program provides classes and hands-on experience with advanced water treatment methods used in the high-tech industry. The certificate program has been developed in cooperation with Intel Corporation. Based on student demand WET-125 and WET-135 may be offered biannually.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:
- correctly operate and maintain SCADA equipment and other instrumentation involved in the general operation of facilities where high purity water is produced;
- perform calculations related to electrical circuit operation and hydraulics;
- correctly use reverse osmosis-based equipment to manufacture high purity water.
