CCC Funding Resources and Support

CCC provides support to student veterans.

Eligibility: Grant recipients will be selected through an evaluation process that is based on, and may not be limited to: income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children and a student's ability to sufficiently demonstrate a financial need for the grant.

Application Process: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

If you are a currently enrolled CCC student in need of further support beyond financial aid in order to achieve your educational and career goals, complete this Coordinated Student Resource Team (CSRT) form. After reviewing this form, a CSRT staff member will contact you for a one-on-one consultation to discuss the various resources and benefits that are available and connect you with the appropriate supports. The CCC Counseling Department has funds to support students who are unable to pay for class fees, textbooks and other expenses relating to retention.

Eligibility: Eligibility is based on enrollment, need, previous access of grant funds, and whether the fund can adequately meet the student's need. Income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children are not taken into account.

Application Process: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

The CCC Associated Student Government (ASG) offers opportunities for funding throughout the year (separate from the grants offered each term). These are available for:

• Class-related materials
• Gas cards
• Tuition/fees

ASG provides support to students seeking assistance with

• Child Care
• Textbooks and required classroom materials
• Transportation
• Tuition and Fees
• Additional textbook/material support to Veterans

These are 5 separate grants, and students who qualify are allowed to apply for more than one grant.

Application process: Every term, students apply through ASG's grants website and then the applications get reviewed and allocated by ASG student leaders.

The CCC Financial Aid Office provides grants, loans and work-study funds for college students. In the United States, the federal government offers more than $150 billion each year to help millions of students pay for higher education.

Eligibility varies depending on student Financial Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information. More information can be found on the Financial Aid Grants, Loans, and Work-Study web page.

Associated Student Government (ASG) has a limited number of Chromebooks for students to check out at no cost for currently registered students. If you are interested in checking out a Chromebook, please complete the application on the Associated Student Government webpage.

Some courses require a laptop or desktop computer instead of a Chromebook. Those courses include all Business Technology (BT) courses and all Computer Science (CS) courses. Those classes also include: BA-131, BA-205, BA-101Z and BA-228. ASG has some laptops available. Please specify if you need a laptop when submitting your application form.

Associated Student Government (ASG) has leadership positions with varying levels of compensation, from textbook vouchers to tuition waivers. For information and application link, visit the Associated Student Government webpage.

Peer Assistants are also leadership positions in several student services offices, which carry tuition waivers as benefits.  For more information and application link, visit the Peer Program webpage.

The STEP Grant provides support for students who are currently receiving SNAP benefits (once known as food stamps).

Eligibility: If you are receiving SNAP benefits and working on your GED, English language skills or a career technical program at CCC, the STEP program can give you added support and resources to help you succeed.

Pantry is open Monday through Thursday, 9am4pm for shopping. Dry goods, dairy and other refrigerated and frozen items are available, as well as fresh produce.

CCC's Workforce Development Services provides employment and training for Clackamas County businesses and job seekers. Our workforce advisors prepare job seekers for high-demand jobs and connect them to employers through career planning, training, and placement services. If you’re a student who struggles with hunger, housing concerns, or other issues on top of your school work, there are benefits that belong to you. The CCC Benefits Navigator can help you access resources that are available in your community, so that you can focus on your educational success.

Students who do not have internet access can also explore various temporary solutions.

Some companies may be offering temporary aid for those affected by the coronavirus. CCC cannot recommend any specific service but as of March 17, the following programs are offering free/low-cost internet access:

• everyoneon.org - Site has an easy-to-search tool that connects folks with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who offer low-cost internet service programs. Lots of new entries in this challenging time!
• Comcast's Internet Essentials - Free for 60 days for qualified low-income families. Call 1-855-846-8376 for English or 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.
• Comcast is offering Xfinity Wi-Fi free for everyone, with hotspots available to all, including non-Xfinity subscribers. To access the service, look for the "xfinitywifi" network name in a list of hotspots. For more information, go to Xfinity Wi-Fi's webpage
• Spectrum Broadband - Free for 60 days to households with a K-12 student or college student who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. Installation fees will be waived for new student households as well. To enroll, call 1-844-488-8395.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs.

Clackamas County has a limited amount of CARES Act funding to address COVID-19 affected households.
