CCC Offers Brilliant Voices Summer Music Camp
OREGON CITY - Clackamas Community College is offering a summer music camp for singers in ninth grade and above who want to immerse themselves in a five-day musical journey to foster growth and inspiration.
Students will spend five days in a welcoming and creative college campus setting. Camp participants are invited to attend optional evening recording sessions where they can record original or cover tunes in a modern studio for a one-of-a-kind camp experience.
"Brilliant Voices Summer Music Camp is a week-long summer music program that's perfect for vocal musicians of all levels who want to improve their skills, sing fun and challenging repertoire, and learn about music theory," CCC Director of Vocal Music Dr. Kathleen Hollingsworth said.
Camp sessions include lessons in:
- Singing
- Songwriting
- Recording
- Choir
- A capella
- Functional theory
- Creativity
- Fun!
Participants will learn new vocal jazz, gospel and choral works in the all-camp choir; learn and perform a standard in the evening concert; learn and understand music theory; hear guest musicians play and talk about music; and make new friends.
The camp runs Aug. 1-5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with a Friday evening concert. The cost is $175 for the week of camp. The recording session is an additional $50. Lunch is available for purchase. All musical skill levels are welcome.
