Art Exhibit 'Landscapes and Surfaces' Opens at CCC
OREGON CITY – The Clackamas Community College Alexander Gallery presents “Landscapes and Surfaces,” a solo exhibition of work by CCC art instructor and Clackamas-based artist Kate Simmons. This exhibition runs through Aug. 31. An artist reception will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2-4 p.m., and Simmons will speak about her work with guest collaborator and CCC alumna Sierra St. James at 3 p.m.
“Landscapes and Surfaces” is a mixed media exhibition including a collaborative experimental video and sculptural works that explore ideas of transition through suggestion of landscape and the human figure. A grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) made this work possible.
The Alexander Gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., and is open Wednesday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m., during summer.
