OREGON CITY – The Alexander Gallery presents "Every Treetop Deserves a Cloud," an exhibition of photographs by Portland-based artist Horatio Law. This exhibition runs Feb. 12-March 15. An artist reception will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, noon-1 p.m., and the artist will speak about his work at 1 p.m.

In “Every Treetop Deserves a Cloud,” Law presents a selection of images from his Instagram project "Urban Studies," which documents his encounters with urban settings during his daily walks. Law uses ideas of childhood wonder and resilience to create artwork that suggest combinations of fantasy, wistful thinking and child logic to explore the chaos and uncertainties of life.

Law was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York and Master of Fine Arts from Washington University in Missouri. His work has been supported by the Oregon Arts Commission, the Regional Arts and Culture Council and Oregon Community Foundation.

The Alexander Gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., and is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the exception of college holidays.

This exhibition is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Kate Simmons at 503-594-3032 or kates@clackamas.edu. For more information on Clackamas Community College’s art exhibits and performances, visit CCC's Arts + Performance webpage.
