Art exhibit 'Kinematics' opens Jan. 6
OREGON CITY – The Clackamas Community College
Alexander Gallery presents “Kinematics,” an exhibition of mixed
media constructions, drawing machines and kinetic sculptures by artist Rob
McKirdie. This exhibition runs Jan. 6-Feb. 3. An artist reception will be held
Wednesday, Jan. 15, noon-1 p.m.
In "Kinematics," things that have shaken loose from material
culture are gathered, investigated, grouped and organized to explore ideas of
narrative through connection. Unique methods of joinery and craftsmanship are
used to create sculptural works that suggest new identities and emphasize the
materials that have constructed them.
McKirdie is a Washington-based artist and educator. His work has been
exhibited throughout the United States and supported by the Artist Trust of
Washington.
The Alexander Gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City
campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., and is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the
exception of college holidays.
This exhibition is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Kate
